Fragrance Care Information

Our hand poured candles, wax melts and diffusers are all created to fill your space with hours of fragrant bliss. To ensure the candles maintain their high quality, looking and working their best (and safest) here are a few tips to follow.

CANDLES

Burning Your Candle

1. The first burn is the most important. Allow enough time for the wax to melt completely. Burn the candle for 3-4 hours at a time to ensure an even burn. Burning the candle for a small period of time can lead to ‘tunnelling’ leaving an uneven burn pool.

2. Make sure to light the candle in a well ventilated area with no drafts or fans as this can cause rapid/uneven burning and sooting (black marks on the container).

3. Burning the candle for longer than 4 hours can cause the wick to work inefficiently.

4. When there is 10mm of wax remaining, cease burning the candle.

Caring For Your Candle Wicks

1. Trim your candle wick to ¼ inch, before burning the candle for best results and to discourage high flames, smoking or sooting.

2. Keep the pool of wax clear of wick trimmings as the debris in the wax can act as a secondary wick, encouraging the candle to burn faster and potentially become a hazard.

3. After extinguishing the flame with a snuffer, ensure to straighten and centre the wick. If the wick becomes close to the container wall, extinguish the flame and straighten the wick to prevent the sides of the container becoming hot and potential cracking.

Cleaning Your Candle

Please do not wipe your candles with sprays of any sort as this may cause the label to fade or discolour. If you do need to clean your candle vessel, use a dry microfibre cloth to gently wipe the outside of the vessel.

REED DIFFUSERS

Using your reed diffuser

1. Gently remove cap and the stopper from the glass vessel.

2. Carefully place the reeds inside the vessel and replace the cap. Our non clogging fibre reeds are 5mm thick so are set to give diffuser scent absorption for longer periods of time, allowing for gradual absorption of the liquid moving up the reeds.

3. To get the most out of the reeds, we advise flipping them every two weeks. This speeds up the saturation rate and gives the scent diffusion a boost.

4. Did you know you can control the scent level to suit your preference? The more reeds used, the stronger the scent will be. Three to four reeds work well for small rooms, or to create a more subtle scent.

5. Due to the nature of the reeds and how they become saturated with liquid, it is best to always place your diffuser on a protective plate to ensure no liquid damages surfaces. Also, take special care that the reeds do not touch painted surfaces or other materials such as wallpaper, curtains, polished or synthetic surfaces or fabrics, as this may cause staining. If the liquid accidently spills onto the label, be sure to wipe all the excess off with a microfibre cloth. If the liquid stays on, it may damage or miscolour the label.

Where To Place A Diffuser

1. Larger rooms may require all the reeds to be used, or more than one diffuser depending on preferred strength.

2. Smaller rooms may not need as many reeds in one vessel. Add a few to test, then increase as necessary, until the desired scent level is reached.

3. The temperature of a room is very important as higher temperatures speed up diffusion. While the strength of the scent will increase, the life of the diffuser will be shortened. Avoid placing diffusers next to radiators to prolong scent release.

WAX MELTS

Using your wax melts

  1. Remove 2-3 wax melts from the packaging and place the wax melts in the well of the wax melt burner. For best results use an unscented tealight or an electric wax melt burner. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s instructions.

  2. Burn the wax melt on a level, fire resistant surface.

  3. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

Safety

To reduce risk of injury, keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not put fingers or hands into the wax burner whilst it is lit. Do not leave burning out of sight. Place burner on a level and heat resistant surface away from other heat elements. Do not overfill the bowl. The burner may become hot, do not touch whilst in use as heated wax can burn. Allow burner to cool after use as it may still be hot. Do not use metal objects to clean out wax as this may damage the burner. See label on wax melts for further health and safety advice.

Wax Melt Storage

Wax melts are sensitive to light and temperature. To avoid wax melts from cracking and melting, store them in a cool place, away from direct sunlight. Keep your wax melts dust free by keeping them in the sealed packaging.
